Dr Waleed Alghamdi

Dr. Waleed Alghamdi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Optometry at Qassim University, Saudi Arabia, where he previously served as Head of Department. He is the current President of the Saudi Society of Optometry and the Founding President of Sight for All Saudi Arabia, a foundation dedicated to improving eye health and preventing blindness.
Dr. Alghamdi earned his BSc in Optometry from King Saud University before completing his Master’s and PhD at the University of New South Wales, Australia, where he also serves as a Visiting Research Fellow. His research interests include contact lenses, dry eye disease, and community eye health. Alongside his academic and research roles, he actively contributes to professional committees and initiatives that advance the practice of optometry regionally and globally.
