I am an Associate Lecturer in the School of Humanities and Languages, and my teaching and research focus on multilingual learners’ experiences in higher education. I am particularly interested in learner wellbeing, educational equity, and empowering pedagogical practices.
I teach Personalised English Language Enhancement (PELE), a course that supports multilingual students in developing autonomous and sustainable approaches to language learning. Rather than teaching English as a fixed set of skills, my teaching focuses on lifelong learning strategies and learner agency. My teaching is informed by feminist pedagogy and centres engagement, care, and critical reflection.
As a multilingual educator and researcher working within an English-dominant context, I am committed to teaching and research practices that promote more inclusive and empowering educational environments that recognise and value learners’ diverse linguistic identities.

My research explores multilingual learners’ and academics’ experiences within higher education, with the aim of informing more equitable and inclusive higher education practices. In particular, I focus on wellbeing, learner agency, and inclusive pedagogical practices within English-dominant academic environments. Using predominantly mixed-methods approaches, I am interested in how institutions can better support engagement, belonging, and empowerment.
I am currently collaborating on projects examining the relationship between English self-efficacy and well-being among English as an Additional Language (EAL) students, the factors that support multilingual students’ sustained engagement and contribution within university communities, and the challenges, support needs, and institutional experiences of EAL academics. My emerging research interests also include feminist pedagogy and personalised learning in higher education contexts.
