Yuhao Liu is an Early Career Academic Fellow (postdoctoral researcher) at UNSW Business School. He completed a Bachelor of Actuarial Studies and a Bachelor of Commerce at UNSW Sydney in 2019, followed by an Honours degree in Actuarial Studies with First Class Honours in 2020. He has since been a PhD student at UNSW School of Risk and Actuarial Studies under the supervision of Professor Qihe Tang, Associate Professor Jinxia Zhu, and Assistant Professor Haibo Liu (Purdue University). He is expected to complete his PhD in the first half of 2026. 

His research interests span climate change and insurance, green finance, and systemic risk. His research outputs include a publication in the European Journal of Operational Research (ABS 4, ABDC A*) on catastrophe risk pricing, as well as several working papers (some near completion) on topics including central clearing under climate change, indifference pricing of green bonds, and hybrid catastrophe bonds covering physical and economic losses. Through these projects, he has developed strong expertise in pricing for incomplete markets. Leveraging advanced analytical and computational skills, he is keen to pursue empirical work in his current and future projects. 

At UNSW, he has been teaching large classes across a wide range of topics, including probability and statistics, financial mathematics, quantitative risk management, and data analytics, consistently earning high teaching evaluations. He has also been an active reviewer for leading actuarial journals, including Insurance: Mathematics and Economics (ABS 3, ABDC A*) and ASTIN Bulletin (ABS 2, ABDC A*), with ten reviews completed since 2024.
