Zhaoxi Zheng (He/Him) is a sociologist, thanatologist, and an award-winning university educator. Zhaoxi’s works centre around the sociologies of health and illness and contribute to scholarship through empirical, methodological, and philosophical innovations. His doctoral research - sitting at the intersections of philosophy, early childhood studies, and death studies - explored young children's everyday encounters with death and dying. His works are written, performed, and published in traditional and creative academic styles.
Zhaoxi is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at School of Social Sciences, University of New South Wales, investigating carers’ experiences and challenges when transitioning out of caring roles. He is also the Co-Director at SocioHealthLab and co-convenor for The Australian Sociological Association Health Thematic Group.
