Immerse yourself in two days of intensive professional development with GERRIC’s Mini-COGE course. Through eleven thoughtfully designed modules, educators will strengthen their differentiation skills and enhance their ability to support high potential and gifted students. With expert guidance and a strong evidence-based foundation, this program explores essential concepts such as Gagné’s Differentiated Model of Giftedness and Talent, effective identification methods and strategies to address underachievement. The Mini-COGE equips educators with the knowledge and tools to better understand and support gifted and high potential students. You will explore key concepts such as common myths about giftedness, the characteristics of gifted learners and effective identification methods. The course includes research-based strategies such as ability grouping and acceleration, along with models that encourage higher-order thinking. It concludes with the development of a differentiated unit of work, giving you the opportunity to apply practical changes in curriculum, assessment and pedagogy. Expand the Mini-COGE into a Microcredential Unit

Upon successful completion of the Mini-COGE, you can enrol in a Microcredential Unit in Gifted Education. This microcredential is equivalent to EDST5808 | Key Concepts and Issues in Gifted Education and is eligible for 6 Units of Credit (UOC), which can be applied toward a postgraduate program in Education.

How can I use my credit towards further study?

By completing both the Mini-COGE and Microcredential Unit, you can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to have 6 units of credit (UOC) transferred upon commencing a Master of Education (Gifted Education) or Graduate Certificate in Education (Gifted Education).
