Nadeem Bashir is a graphic designer, illustrator, and furniture designer. He’s also an Associate Professor in the area of visual design at the National College of Arts in Lahore, Pakistan. He completed his training at UNSW Art & Design, specialising in graphic design and visual communication. His greatest concerns are arts and culture, human rights and social action, and the importance of education.

Nadeem’s graphics works – including logo design, layout design, and illustrative drawings – are clean and elegant. Clients for whom he has undertaken graphic design work include the Design Centre of Pakistan, WWF Global, the Society of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists of Pakistan, Chawkandi Art, and the Al-Ameen Educational Trust.

Nadeem’s furniture, which has been exhibited widely in Pakistan, is sleek and refined, utilising dark grain hardwoods, hand-rubbed finishes, and intricate patterns. One of his recent series – The Spice Box, featuring sideboards, cupboards, drawer units, and end tables – incorporates traditional visual elements of intricate woodcarving and lattice inlayed within streamlined frames. In talking about these pieces, Nadeem says he wanted to bring “romance into modern living”.
