Our UNSW alumni mentors have walked in your shoes and offer guidance and support to help you navigate the complexities of the business world. Delivered in partnership with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, the Career Mentoring Program offers a real-world industry focus. Women in Business
Tailored for female-identifying students, the Women in Business stream connects you with accomplished female leaders, all UNSW Business School alumni, who are passionate about empowering the next generation of women in business.
You'll be matched in a small group, with one mentor to three mentees, creating a supportive space to learn, share experiences, and build confidence alongside like-minded peers. Through personalised mentorship, you'll gain the skills, confidence and leadership mindset needed to navigate your career with purpose.
Focusing on professional growth, networking, and business insights, this program helps you refine your goals and equips you with the tools to thrive in any business setting.
Consulting
For students with an interest in the consulting sector, this mentoring stream connects you with experienced alumni professionals who have navigated the fast-paced and dynamic world of consulting.
You'll be matched in a small group, one mentor to three mentees, allowing you to gain first-hand insights into industry trends, client engagement, and career paths. Through personalised mentorship, you’ll refine your strategic thinking, communication skills, and career aspirations.

Financial Services
Tailored for students interested in a career in the financial services sector, this stream connects you with experienced alumni professionals who can offer insights into this industry landscape and potential career pathways.
This program provides opportunities to explore industry trends, develop professional skills, and build confidence in navigating the sector. Your mentor will share their perspectives on challenges and opportunities within financial services, helping you to refine your career aspirations.

Alumni Leaders
Unique to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce (International)*, the Alumni Leaders stream connects you with some of UNSW Business School’s most successful graduates. Discover the power of mentorship connecting with experienced alumni who offer invaluable guidance and support that fosters both personal and professional development.
You'll be paired with a senior business leader in a small, focused setting, one mentor to two mentees. This allows for deeper discussions and tailored guidance and fosters a strong peer connection, enabling you to learn alongside and support each other as you navigate your career journey with confidence. You'll gain real-world perspectives and global insights from a senior business leader, helping you to map out your future ambitions and strengthen your career goals.
Build confidence, expand your professional network, and develop the skills needed for success. With events, regular mentor meetings, continuous support, and opportunities to reflect on your progress, you'll be well-equipped to navigate your career journey.

- What to expect
- Program essentials
You'll be matched in a small group with a senior business leader. You'll take part in three group mentoring sessions alongside your peers, plus one dedicated one-to-one session with your mentor, giving you the opportunity to:
- Communicate effectively and professionally in business settings.
- Build a network of peers and professionals to support your career growth.
- Leverage your strengths and experiences to stand out in job applications.
- Tailor and refine your personal brand to align with your career goals.
- Strengthen your interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.

As a mentee, you will be expected to participate in the following mandatory activities:
- Complete pre-program training.
- Attend the welcome workshop.
- Participate in networking events.
- Meet with your mentor for a total of 4 meetings (online or in-person).
- Attend mid-program check-in and program completion event (online).
- Reflect on your experience.

Term 2

Undergraduate
To be eligible you must:
- Be an undergraduate student.
- Be enrolled at UNSW Business School.
- Have completed 48 units of credit by the commencement of Term 2 of the program year.
- Maintain a WAM of 50 or above.
- Have completed Career Accelerator: Essentials.
- Have not previously participated in the Career Mentoring Program.
Postgraduate
To be eligible you must:
- Be a postgraduate student.
- Be enrolled at UNSW Business School.
- Have no previous professional industry experience in Australia.
- Maintain a WAM of 50 or above.
- Have completed Career Accelerator: Essentials.
- Have not previously participated in the Career Mentoring Program.
