Meet Samantha Wan
Wool Broker and Auctioneer
About Samantha
Samantha is a wool broker and auctioneer based just outside of Melbourne. Sam is a first-generation Australian who grew up in the western suburbs of Sydney. During high school, Sam had a passionate agriculture teacher who encouraged her to get hands-on experience working on farms. After her first farm-stay, Sam knew she had found her calling.
Sam studied a Certificate IV of Agriculture at TAFE, before continuing her studies and doing a Bachelor of Agricultural Science at university. After university, Sam applied to the Elders Trainee program, and she is now an award-winning Wool Broker and Auctioneer.
When she’s not selling wool, she’s farming it. Sam and her husband bought a farm on the outskirts of Melbourne and raise their own flock of merino sheep, as well as caring for chickens, rams and the land.
Sam doesn’t know what she wants to do in the future, but she knows that agriculture is full of exciting possibilities, and she can’t wait to see how the industry transforms as it continues to adopt cutting-edge technology.
