AGSM @ UNSW Business School has partnered with Women in Super (WIS) NSW to offer an education scholarship for the professional development of their members wishing to further their learning and leadership capabilities.

News of the scholarship was announced last week at the first WIS event of the year at the Marriott Sydney which featured and inspiring presentation by Pauline Vamos, CEO of The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA). ASFA is the peak policy, research and advocacy body for Australia's superannuation (super) industry.

As one of the leading members of the Australian Superannuation industry, Pauline unpacked the intricacies of the Financial Services legislation to the 150-strong audience and spoke about the responsibility of members to look for innovative news ways to bring the issue of Superannuation into the spotlight.

The partnership was made possible through the connections of the AGSM @UNSW Business School alumni community and led by Megan Pham (MActSt 2010), Keri Pratt (MBA (Exec) 1998) and Camilla Love (MBA (Exec) 2011).

AGSM Director, Professor Julie Cogin said: "AGSM is thrilled to be partnering with Women in Super to support aspiring female leaders through professional development opportunities.

By offering two scholarships to attend Executive Education programs we hope to provide women with access to executive level training that will help them thrive in leadership roles in the superannuation and finance industries.

"It is also our hope that the scholarship offerings enable WIS members to broaden their personal and professional networks through the AGSM community. Both AGSM and WIS are focussed on developing future leaders through education, and with AGSM's concentrated efforts on promoting equal participation for women in study and business, the alignment with our two organisations couldn't be more natural."

Winners of the scholarship will have their tuition covered when they undertake one of the many AGSM's extensive range of Executive Education leadership and development courses.

The selection committee, made up from members of the Women in Super Committee and AGSM, will be looking to award the scholarship to a woman who can demonstrate their commitments to furthering their careers and the wider superannuation industry.
