UNSW Law alumni took home 10 per cent of the winnings from Lawyers Weekly’s 30 Under 30 awards evening held at the Hyatt Regency in Sydney last month.

Three of the 30 awards - awarded across 15 categories - went to recent UNSW graduates in recognition of their talent and achievements in law while still under 30 years of age.

Sumer Dayal, who graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons)/Bachelor of International Studies (International Business), was recognised for his work in Intellectual Property. He is currently an IP and Technology lawyer for Clayton Utz.

In the Pro Bono category, David Frew (shown right in photo above) was awarded for his work as Associate for Norton Rose Fulbright. Now specialising in insurance law, he completed a Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Law degree at UNSW in 2013.

Allens’ Senior Associate Lisa Lucak took out the prize for the Dispute Resolution category. Lucak completed a Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Law (Hons) in 2011 and specialises in competition and consumer law.

Now in its sixth year, the 30 Under 30 awards night is described by event organisers as a catalyst for career progression and showcases young lawyers’ professional performance, leadership capabilities and abilities to influence the client.
