Rosa Le said her UNSW Canberra masters degree has empowered her to seize new opportunities.

She will graduate this week as a Master of Project Management.

Based in Melbourne and working full-time in the Defence industry, Rosa completed her degree part-time via distance delivery.

“The Project Management course was structured in a way that gave me exposure to the basic principles of systems engineering practices and systems thinking models, as well as the leadership and management practices to lead and deliver successful programs,” Rosa said.

While Rosa works in project management, she said the degree built a range of skills that are universally applicable.

“Whether you aspire to be a project manager or not, I think that project management skills are highly regarded in all professions – the ability to strategise, execute and deliver within schedule, cost and quality – are highly versatile in all industries,” she said.

“I wanted to further strengthen my skills and understanding of the fundamental principles and concepts of project management within a complex environment.”

Ms Le said she will be able to implement what she has learnt within program execution and assurance, management and controls.

“The course has not only equipped me with the fundamental understanding of project management principles, but also empowered me to seize new opportunities outside of my comfort zone,” Rosa said.

“It has broadened my understanding and given me a different perspective – a different way of thinking in order to shape my future within an ever-changing project environment.”
