School Promotions: Spiridon Penev & Thanh Tran

We are proud to announce that Spiridon Penev and Thanh Tran have been promoted to Professor in the latest round, effective 1 January 2020. 

Professor Penev joined UNSW in 1992 as a lecturer, and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 1999, then to Associate Professor in 2011.

Professor Tran commenced as a Research Associate at UNSW from 1994 until 1997. After roles at ANU and Deakin University, he re-joined UNSW in 2002 as a Senior Lecturer then Associate Professor. 

Promotion to Professor at UNSW is dependent on making outstanding leadership contributions, recognised at an international level, in areas of research, and/or teaching, and/or engagement.
