Peer Support Team Lead Jessica Luquin is excited about the possibilities presented by the program.

"The aim is to support students entering university and connect them with their peers who have a similar passion for sport and active participation," she said.

"The hope is to connect (students) through their interests so they feel welcome regardless of being in Australia or overseas at this time."

The program will start during Orientation week for each term and run through until week four, providing plenty of opportunities for new students to connect and settle into their time at the University with a like-minded peer.

A Peer Support program can help make the start of a new life as a student feel less overwhelming and more exciting and connecting students by interests is an additional service to the faculty-based peer support programs already on offer.
