This project titled “Design of Cokes from Biomass Coal Blends for Sustainable Blast Furnace Ironmaking” will investigate the potential impacts of biomass addition in coking blends for use in steelmaking. This will be conducted through investigation of the structural and high-temperature mechanical characteristics of these composites after exposure to simulated blast furnace conditions. This project will involve Prof. Chris Sorrell and Dr. Sushil Gupta at UNSW as well as collaboration with researchers from the University of Newcastle, University of Wollongong, CSIRO, ANSTO and The Crucible Group. Congratulations on the successful application for this competitive grant.
