One of our very own postgraduates doing her PhD with Materials Science and Engineering, Vina Putra, has been chosen to become one of the Champions for the UNSW Women in Maths and Science Champions Program.
While her PhD aims to understand stem cells adaptation as a living material for tissue regeneration, her involvement with the program challenges the stereotypes that often hold young girls back when considering STEM as a career option. As a Champion, she inspires passion for aspiring female scientists to pursue their ideas in STEM by blogging about her research as well as personal journey in science. She is a role model with a wealth of experiences to share and to mentor women to achieve their dreams.
So, congratulations Vina, your work is inspirational.
