Project Title: The Eye as a Window to the Brain
Project Synopsis
- This project aims to examine the capabilities of vision and fundus examinations for providing insights into physical, psychological and cognitive health in older adults.
- The PhD candidate will be supported by a multidisciplinary team including optometrists, psychiatrists, and computer science/ biomedical engineers.
- This opportunity will include working with State-of-the-Art technology including advanced ocular imaging and artificial intelligence.
Project Team
The core team will include Dr Jessie Huang-Lung, Dr Angelica Ly and Prof Lisa Keay.
Applicant’s discipline and research background
- Desirable: Registration with the Optometry Board of Australia
Available Scholarship Funding Sources:
- Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship worth $35,000 per annum for 3.5 years (tax exempt)
- UNSW Top-up Scholarship worth $10,000 to $15,000 per annum (tax exempt)
