SPREE’s Rong Deng graduated from our solar degree only in 2018, and since then she has already forged a stellar career as a solar engineer where her research on solar panel recycling has taken her from Forbes’ Asia’s 30 under 30 list, all the way to interviews on the BBC.

She’s now a postdoc researcher with us, where she continues her work on end-of-life panel recycling, with the aim of making solar a completely sustainable, closed-loop energy system.

Here Rong talks about her study journey to where she is today, how she traveled from China to UNSW to pursue her career, and why she recommends any women interested in STEM and the environment enroll in our degrees so they too can make a real difference to the world.
