Congratulations to Phil Anderton, an Adjunct Associate Professor at UNSW School of Optometry & Vision Science who has been recently honoured with a Distinguished Service Achievement Award from the Optometrists Association NSW/ACT.
The award is testament to Phil's outstanding and significant contributions that he has made to the Optometry profession over many years.
He recalled that his proudest achievement has been creating and co-founding the inaugural MOptom course in Ocular Therapeutics at UNSW in 1995.
Phil, fondly known as the "flying optometrist" built a light aircraft and travelled to remote Indigenous communities in regional NSW for many years to deliver optometry clinics.
