The focus of Bernd Nicolaisen's photographs in "ZerOne - First Life" is on the emergence of first life and the surfaces and structures of some of the oldest rock formations on our planet.

Professor Martin Van Kranendonk from the University of New South Wales and member of the Australian Centre for Astrobiology, along with Professor Kathleen Campbell from the University of Auckland supported the filmmaker Nicolaisen with their knowledge.

His project “ZerOne - First Life” is about scientific investigations and their artistic interpretations in the context of the relativity of our concept and understanding of time.

The works for “ZerOne - First Life” were produced together with Adam Lowe and Factum Arte in Madrid. Follow the link to watch the short documentary for free!
