Vision 2020 Australia and Guide Dogs NSW/ACT sponsored the first NSW Parliamentary Friends in Eye Health and Vision Care on 12th October 2023, World Sight Day. Co-chairs of the newly established Parliamentary Friends Group are Member for Willoughby Tim James MP and Dr Michael Holland, Member for Bega. The event was on the rooftop gardens and attended by representatives of Vision 2020 Australia Member organisations including the School of Optometry and Vision Science, UNSW and three 8-week old future guide dogs.
