AGSM @ UNSW Business School ranked 1st in Australia and 32nd in the QS 2027 Global MBA Rankings released on 16 September. The result puts the AGSM Full-Time MBA in the top 10% of the world’s best programs. The rankings assessed 400 programs across 73 countries.
“AGSM’s continued position among the world’s top MBA programs reflects the strength of the program, the quality of our students and the broader AGSM community,” said Professor Paul Andon, Dean, UNSW Business School.
“Ranking in the top 10% of the world’s best MBA programs is a reflection of the outstanding students the AGSM Full-Time MBA attracts and the impact our global community of more than 120,000 alumni is making across business, government and the for-purpose sectors,” he said.
AGSM ranked above the global average across all indicators: return on investment (ROI), alumni outcomes, diversity, thought leadership and employability. The school performed extremely well in the areas of diversity (with a global indicator of 91.9–31.8 points ahead of the global average) and thought leadership (with an indicator of 84.2–35.5 points ahead of the global average).
“We continue to evolve and refine our MBA programs in response to the changing needs of business and society. Our focus remains on developing leaders who are equipped to make a positive impact and respond to the challenges and opportunities facing an increasingly complex and interconnected world,” said Prof. Andon.
Thought leadership was ranked against factors such as research impact and academic reputation and is based on responses from more than 200,000 academics in 60 countries around the world. Research Impact measures faculty productivity in specific academic fields. The diversity metric looks at the gender balance and international mix of students and faculty.
Value for money was also a key differentiator, with AGSM scoring 80.1, which was 22.4 points ahead of the global average.
Associate Professor Michele Roberts, Associate Dean (Post Experience) and Head of School, AGSM @ UNSW Business School, said the result reflected AGSM’s focus on preparing leaders for a rapidly changing business environment.
“Our MBA programs are designed to provide leaders the knowledge, skills and perspectives needed to navigate complexity, harness emerging technologies and drive meaningful outcomes in a changing world,” she said.
A/Prof. Roberts said the ability to understand and apply AI is becoming increasingly important for business leaders.
“Leaders need to be equipped to navigate technological change, harness AI responsibly and identify opportunities to create value in disrupted and complex environments. AGSM is committed to developing graduates with the future-focused skills needed to lead organisations through this change.”
“As technology continues to reshape the way organisations operate, leaders must also consider the impact of their decisions on people, communities and the planet. Through a focus on ethical decision-making, responsible management and real-world application, our graduates are equipped to create a positive impact and shape a more sustainable future
