Siemens Magnetom Prisma
A 3T whole-body MRI magnet
Description
The Siemens Magnetom Prisma is a standard bore (60cm) 3T zero boil-off whole-body human MRI magnet with 80mT/m gradients and a maximum slew rate of 200 T/m/s. The system is equipped with multiple RF transmitters for field shaping and 64 RF receivers.
Equipped with several multichannel coils and auxiliary equipment, such as an EEG and eye-tracking system, the Prisma is particularly suited for neuroimaging applications. The scanner can be booked for investigator-led or industry/pharma-sponsored national and international research studies.
Our system has multiple software licenses for a wide array of acquisition and postprocessing applications. It is equipped with an MR Elastography actuator with differently sized drivers. A contrast injector is integrated into the system and a clinical life sign monitor is available.
Via DICOM the system is connected to the Prince of Wales Medical Imaging Department’s PACS system for Duty of Care reporting and uploading of SESLHD and SCH patient data, and to the RINSW Flywheel instance for uploading of anonymised study data.
The scanner room is equipped with medical gases.
