Siemens Magnetom Vida
A wide bore 3T whole-body human MRI magnet
Description
The Siemens Magnetom Vida is a wide bore (70cm) 3T zero boil-off whole-body human MRI magnet with 60mT/m gradients and a maximum slew rate of 200 T/m/s. The system is equipped with multiple RF transmitters for field shaping and 64 RF receivers.
This model features the BioMatrix Technology, which enables physiological monitoring without bellows, ECG or pulse monitoring cables.
Due to its 70cm bore and BioMatrix Technology, the Vida is particularly suited for cardiac and/or respiratory triggered cardiovascular, abdominal and whole body applications. It’s also a more friendly system for children, anxious and/or larger bodied participants.
Our system has multiple software licenses for a wide array of acquisition and postprocessing applications. It is equipped with an MR Elastography actuator with several drivers. The Vida has a laser bridge for co-registration of radiation treatment. A contrast injector is integrated into the system and a clinical life sign monitor for anaesthesia use is available. It is also equipped with an MR-conditional Pulse oximeter and pulse rate monitor.
Via DICOM the system is connected to the Prince of Wales Medical Imaging Department PACS system for Duty of Care reporting and uploading of SESLHD and SCH patient data, and to the RINSW Flywheel instance for uploading of anonymised study data.
The scanner room is equipped with medical gases and has a separate viewing station with advanced postprocessing licenses for image analysis.
