This Scholarship is for PhD candidates in the UNSW School of Built Environment to conduct research into urban regeneration and renewal in the Asia Pacific region. The Scholarship will support research to build towards more resilient, liveable, sustainable, and healthy cities in the Asia Pacific region.

Scholarship

  • $37,684 per annum (2024 rate, indexed), 3.5 years
  • International candidates receive a tuition fee scholarship

Eligibility

  • Domestic and International Candidates
  • new and existing candidates
  • full time enrolment 

Selection Criteria

  • Academic merit
  • A degree in one of the built environment disciplines including city planning, architecture, landscape architecture or urban design
  • Research proposal with a focus on the Asia Pacific region
  • Quality and relevance of research proposal to urban regeneration in the 21st century

  1. Ensure you satisfy the admission criteria (under the Entry Requirements tab) for the PhD. You must also ensure you meet the UNSW English Language Requirements for this Faculty.
  2. Follow the Faculty of Arts, Design & Architecture Expression of Interest process. You should discuss your intention to apply for the Vincent Lo PhD Scholarship with your proposed supervisor. Please include the scholarship in the funding section of the EOI form, and in your email when submitting your Expression of Interest.
