I am a clinician-researcher in the fields of anaesthesia and pain medicine. I am internationally known as an innovator and leader in regional anaesthesia, perioperative ultrasonography, and medical education with the aim of improving patient outcomes after surgery. I collaborate in research both nationally and internationally, and help develop policies and national guidelines that impact directly on patient care in Australia and New Zealand, Europe and North America.
I have over $4 million in grants from NHMRC, MRFF, ANZCA and the ASA to research priority topics in perioperative medicine.
