I am an evolutionary biologist interested in the mechanisms underlying the evolution of novel traits. My research uses a range of tools from genetics, transcriptomics, epigenetics and bioinformatics to behavioural and chemical ecology. My current work focuses on the molecular causes and consequences of rapid evolution in invasive species. Using cane toads as a model, I study the relationship between DNA methylation, gene expression and dispersal-related traits in both long-established and range-edge populations.
