Dr Chi (David) Cheng is a Senior Lecturer and ARC Future Fellow in Chemical Engineering at UNSW Sydney, and Deputy Director of the UNESCO Centre for Membrane Science and Technology. He joined UNSW in 2023, following appointments as a Postdoctoral Scholar and Research Scientist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Monash University.
His research focuses on nanofluidics, membrane science, and nanopore technologies for advanced chemical separations, green energy, and sustainable resources.
Dr Cheng has been recognised with the MSA Membrane Science Award, ARC Future Fellowship, and Australian Endeavour Research Fellowship.
