Fiona Mackie is a senior consultant paediatric nephrologist at Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick and University of N.S.W. She received her initial medical degrees and PhD from Sydney University. Fiona received postgraduate training in paediatric kidney transplantation at Stanford University and completed a 3 year fellowship there. She was the Chair of the Australian and New Zealand Paediatric Nephrology Association from 2012-2015 and still serves on the Executive. She is currently the paediatric representative on the Allocation Sub-committee of the Renal Transplant Advisory Group for Australia. Fiona is the incoming Chair of the International Paediatric Transplant Association Outreach Committee and has been actively involved in supporting nephrology and transplantation in Vietnam. This work has been enhanced by an ISN/TTS Sister Transplant Fellowship with CH2 Hospital in HCM City. Fiona maintains an active clinical research interest in transplantation outcomes including HLA sensitisation, allocation issues, viral disease and vaccination as well as S.L.E. She is the Chair of the National Review of Paediatric Kidney Transplantation in Australia.
