Fitri Widhiastuti is a Research Associate in Algal Organic Matter and Micropollutants (AOM) at the School of Chemical Engineering. Her work focuses on water and wastewater treatment, including cyanotoxin analysis, reactive oxygen species (ROS) in advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), PFAS sensing, micro- and nanoplastics interactions, and emerging contaminant removal. Beyond research, she is a 2024 STEMM Champions Program member, advocating for women, non-binary, and gender-diverse individuals in STEMM, and serves on the Australian Water Association’s Water Literacy and Education Specialist Network, promoting water knowledge within communities and schools.
