Research Interests:
In the field of Global health, my interest is in scabies, an endemic disease throughout much of the world and particularly in the Pacific. Recent work has been on the prevalence of scabies has been conducted in Fiji, and our next project will be to due a trail of different mass drug treatment regimes in isolated islands of Fiji. In the field of dermatology , my main interest has been in the etiology and pathogenesis of rosacea, a common disease affecting the skin and the eyes.In particular I have been looking at the possible role of Staphylococcus epidermidis in the pustules of rosacea. In the field of HIV , I have been conducting a skin clinic for mostly HIV infected persons for 12 years, and am now interested in the immune restoration phenomenon as it applies to the skin.
