Mr Matthew Berry
Bachelor of Mathematics Advanced (Honours), Doctor of Philosophy (Mathematics)
Matthew is an early career researcher working within the Infection analytics program within the Kirby Institute.
Matthew obtained a PhD in Mathematics in 2023. His research involved the use of Bayesian statistics in solving industrial inverse problems. This included applying mathematical models for thermogravemetric analysis and conducting bayesian inference on the experimental data.
Mathews current research focuses on translational approaches to assess effectiveness of vaccination and treatment against infectious diseases. These analyses focus on the use of immune markers, such as antibody levels, as a correlate for determining efficacy of vaccines. These correlates of protection analysis stretch across multiple infectious diseases with research being conducted on Mpox, Covid and other infectious diseases.
