Natalie Hodgson is a Scientia PhD Candidate in the Faculty of Law, UNSW. She has a Bachelor of Arts (Criminology) (Hons I) / Bachelor of Laws (Hons I) from UNSW, and received the University Medal in Criminology for her research on female defendants in international criminal tribunals. She researches predominantly in the areas of state crime, Australian criminal law and international criminal law. Her PhD thesis examines international criminal law as a tool for resisting state crime, through the case study of Australia's offshore detention of asylum seekers.
