Dr Pam Konecny is a Senior Staff Specialist in Infectious Diseases, St George Hospital and Conjoint Senior Lecturer of the St George & Sutherland Clinical School, located on the grounds of St George Hospital.
Research Interests:
Research interests are infectious diseases related. Early basic science research centred on immunopathogenesis of infectious diseases, investigating the role of dendritic cells in the murine model of leishmaniasis. Following a clinical appointment to St George Hospital as Staff Specialist in Infectious Diseases, clinical research in HIV and sexual health became the focus, co-supervising a PhD student investigating the aetiology and associations of cervicitis. Currently research is centred around antimicrobial stewardship intervention, evaluation and sepsis.
Broad Research Areas: Antimicrobial stewardship; HIV and bone health, sexual health.
