Medicine & Health
The Kirby Institute
Sofia is an Adjunct Associate Lecturer in the Viral Hepatitis Clinical Research Program at the Kirby Institute, UNSW Sydney. She completed her PhD in Epidemiology at the University of New South Wales, and is currently completing a Postdoctoral Fellowship through the University of British Columbia at the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control in Vancouver, Canada. Sofia’s program of research is broadly public health focused, and seeks to address gaps in knowledge around viral hepatitis, HIV, incarceration, injecting drug use, and the co-occurrence of these conditions, that have the potential to inform public health policy and health programming, while also advancing the rights and the health of marginalized people.
