Tom is a Ph.D. Candidate at the National Drug National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC). He completed his Master of Public Health and began working at NDARC in 2018.

His research interests and focus of his Ph.D. include the experience of childhood maltreatment and comorbid mental disorders among people who use opioids and other drugs. He is interested in both illicit and pharmaceutical opioid use.
