How to find the right society
Here are a few tips on finding the clubs or societies that are right for you:
Do what you love. Your passions and interests will always energise you, so unleash them!
Consider your goals. Before joining a society, consider what you want to gain from the experience. Whether upgrading skills, making new friends or exploring a new hobby.
Throw yourself in. Step outside your comfort zone and say "yes" to new experiences!
Attend O-Week. Before the first week of your studies begins, come to O-Week, look around for reps from the societies you are interested in, and sign up.

Hear from Sean - UNSW Riot Society
"I've been involved with the Riot Society since high school. Their active online community was part of what got me excited to study at UNSW.
Some things that I enjoy doing are putting on events and creating content for the society's membership. Adding value is a fun way to express yourself outside of academics.
I also love writing parodies in my spare time which led me to create the "Welcome to ELO Hell" parody video with my friend, Jason Jin.
The video really took off! I can't say I've let my status as a pseudo-celebrity get to my head just yet. I do appreciate that people on the internet loved what we made though!
My advice for commencing students is not to be afraid to get involved in clubs and societies. There is something for everyone!"
