Clubs are a way to ignite your passion, develop new skills and get involved in a community.
University is more than just exams and lectures. It's also about discovering your passions and connecting with peers. Student clubs and societies help students to explore their interests in a fun and engaging environment, fostering creativity, collaboration, and lifelong friendships. There is something for everyone (and then some), and if we don’t have what you’re looking for, you can start your own. Join our vibrant community and elevate your student life!
How to find the right society
Here are a few tips on how to find out which club or society is right for you:
Do what you love. Your passions and interests will always energise you, so unleash them!
Consider your goals. Before joining a society, think about what you want to gain from the experience. Whether it's upgrading skills, making new friends or exploring a new hobby.
Try something new. Uni is a time in your life to take risks and get outside your comfort zone.
Attend O-Week. Before the first week of your studies begins, come to O-Week, look around for societies you are interested in, and sign up.
Throw yourself in. Step outside your comfort zone and say "yes" to new experiences!

Hear from Sean - UNSW Riot Society
"I've been involved with the Riot Society since high school. Their active online community was part of what got me really excited to study at UNSW.
Some things that I really enjoy doing are putting on events and creating content for the society's membership. Adding value this way is such a fun way to express yourself outside of academics.
I also love writing parodies in my spare time which led me to create the "Welcome to ELO Hell" parody video with my friend, Jason Jin.
The video really took off! I can't say I've let my status as a pseudo-celebrity get to my head just yet. I do appreciate that people on the internet loved what we made though!
My advice for commencing students is don't be afraid to get involved in clubs and societies. There really is something for everyone!"
