Wallace Wurth Pharmacy Lab Project

Personalise
Pharmacy teaching space in the Wallace Wurth Building

Project overview

The Pharmacy Lab project at Wallace Wurth Buillding delivered a new 38-seat pharmacy teaching space designed to integrate multimple teaching activities into a single, flexible footprint. The project supports contemporary pharmacy education by providing hands-on, practice-based learning environments that reflect real-world clinical and laboratory settings.

The project was recognised with a Faculty Award for Education Innovation, acknowledging its contribution to teaching excellence and learning innovation.

Works included the installation of new laboratory benches, customised storage units, fume cupboards, laboratory sinks and specialist teaching equipment. The space was equipped with a fully integrated AV system featuring a height-adjustable lectern and presenter console, multiple document cameras to support live demonstrations and high-resolution display monitors providing full room coverage.

A significant component of the project involved carefully splitting an active PC2 laboratory while maintaining certification and accreditation. Through detailed planning and design, approximately 400 square metres of new teaching space was created without disrupting ongoing laboratory operations.
