Families explore ocean careers at Ocean Lovers Festival

Future You was proud to take part in Ocean Lovers Festival, held at Bondi Beach in March 2026, engaging families from across New South Wales in conversations about how STEM careers can contribute to protecting our oceans.

At the festival, families were invited to share their hopes for the future of our oceans. This simple prompt acted as a springboard for deeper conversations about the role young people could play in shaping the ocean futures that they dream about through STEM careers or skills.

This year, the Future You team are working hard to create more opportunities for families to have consistent engagement with diverse and inclusive STEM role models in community settings such as the Ocean Lovers Festival because we need to influence outside of the classroom as well as within it to create the equity that we want to see in STEM.
