2025
Science in the Swamp was a free, family-friendly event that took place on Dickens’ Lawn in Centennial Park on Sunday 17 August, 2025.
The event featured a diverse range of interactive activities, where families and friends enjoyed live science shows, hands-on experiments, and even met native animals. With over 30 stalls, there was something for every budding scientist.
Future You brought the fun in STEM careers with our Pathfinder and STEM-OMeter images that were used to create a scavenger hunt across the event. Using a QR code, families could triangulate around a narrow base, making it an engaging and creative way to explore the park and Future You’s scientific offerings.
By using the Future You program’s STEM-OMeter to highlight the amount of STEM skills in various jobs, the event helped children see how their interests can lead to a meaningful future in STEM.
