This event was presented on the 18th of October 2022 by UNSW AI Institute, with the support of the Centre for Critical Digital Infrastructure, ARC Centre for Excellence for Automated Decision Making and Society (ADM+S), UNSW School of Computer Science and Engineering, UNSW School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Research Centre for Integrated Transport Innovation (rCITI), and UNSW-Cisco Innovation Central Sydney.
Data-driven and AI systems are increasingly becoming more pervasive in our cities with increasingly digitized transport networks. AI and transport researchers and leaders (such as Simon Young, Cisco; Sara Stace, WSP Australia; Brooke Knox, Transport NSW – pictured below) came together to discuss how we can leverage AI in understanding urban mobility needs, and healthy and equitable cities.
The interactive, hands-on workshop saw academia and Industry come together to discuss:
The latest research and innovation in mobility systems using AI and IoT
Recent industry trends of AI for Transport
IoT and edge computing for Transport
Open problems towards achieving equitable and sustainable mobility and transport with AI and IoT
