Colorectal Cancer is the third most common cancer worldwide and the 2nd most common cause of cancer death. Current preventive and therapeutic agents against colorectal cancer are not safe to use for everyone with a lot of adverse side effects.
This PhD project will develop a potential probiotic for preventing and treating colorectal cancer and will understand the mechanism of how this potential probiotic exerts its anti-tumor activities using in vitro and in vivo models.
Expected Outcome: The potential probiotic will act as an alternative preventive and therapeutic agent against colorectal cancer, improving the quality of life and the survival of the patients.
