The project

The aim of the Early Pain Intervention after Knee Replacement (EPIK) program is to adapt an acceptable, effective, and cost-effective overseas model of care for people with persistent pain after total knee replacement to the Australian context and to evaluate its effectiveness (in a randomised clinical trial) on reducing pain and improving function (compared to usual care), across Australia.

This Scholarship has been established to provide financial assistance to a PhD student who is undertaking research in the development and clinical trial of a model-of-care pathway to treat pain after knee replacement within the Early Pain Intervention after Knee Replacement (EPIK) research program.

This Scholarship is funded by a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Clinical Trials and Cohorts 2023 grant and Ramsay Hospital Research Foundation Translation Challenge Grant 2023.
