Overview
The LLM MBA (Law) is a postgraduate double degree program that allows you to combine the breadth of knowledge from an MBA with the advanced study of Law. Delivered online and intensively the LLM/ MBA Law provides working professionals with flexibility to enhance their career prospects while maintaining full time employment.
The MBA curriculum equips professionals with the skills to be effective in a contemporary business environment where the rapid rate of innovation and disruption impacts significantly on the organisation's success. You'll be able to apply the concepts and tools to your professional environment immediately, while preparing for the future by accelerating your current career, following a new path or building a new enterprise.
The Master of Laws (LLM) program will help you develop an advanced and contemporary understanding of one or more areas of legal study, to acquire further expertise and enhance career prospects. By incorporating a specialisation into the LLM, you can pursue an area of law that complements your existing profession or provides entry into a new field. Alternatively, you can complete a generalist program and choose courses from any of the specialisations.

Entry requirements
A candidate for the LLM MBA (Law) shall have been previously awarded any of the following:
- Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree from UNSW Sydney or a qualification considered equivalent from another university or tertiary institution and a minimum of two years professional or managerial work experience;
- Bachelor of Laws degree with a credit average, from UNSW Sydney or a qualification considered equivalent from another university or tertiary institution and a minimum of two years professional or managerial work experience;
- Juris Doctor degree, with a credit average, from UNSW Sydney or a qualification considered equivalent from another university or tertiary institution and a minimum of two years professional or managerial work experience;
- Bachelor degree in Social Sciences or Humanities, with a credit average, from UNSW Sydney or a qualification considered equivalent from another university or tertiary institution and a minimum of two years professional or managerial work experience;
- Juris Doctor degree or a Bachelor degree in Laws, Social Sciences or Humanities from UNSW Sydney or a qualification considered equivalent from another university or tertiary institution and a minimum of two years' relevant professional experience;
- Bachelor degree from UNSW Sydney, with a credit average, or a qualification considered equivalent from another university or tertiary institution and a minimum of two years' relevant professional experience.
For the purposes of (5) and (6), relevant professional experience could include professional experience in legal and policy issues gained as an officer in local government; consulting on legal and policy issues; an officer/manager or similar for state or federal government agency with responsibility for legal and policy issues; corporate auditing, monitoring or managing legal and policy issues; project management with a legal or policy focus; NGO or international organisation responsible for law or policy reform.

English language requirements
You may be asked to provide evidence of your English proficiency to study at UNSW depending on your educational background and citizenship. English language skills are vitally important for coping with lectures, tutorials, assignments and examinations - this is why UNSW requires a minimum English language competency for enrolment.
If you’re completing an Australian Year 12 qualification (e.g. NSW HSC or equivalent), you do not need to provide anything extra to prove your proficiency. Your qualification will be used as evidence of your English proficiency.
If you do need to provide evidence of your English proficiency, this will be indicated in your application. You can prove this by providing evidence that you meet one or more of the following criteria:
- English language tests and university English courses
- Prior study in the medium of English
- Other qualifications

To be awarded an LLM with a specialisation, students must successfully complete at least four courses in their chosen field.
