What are the cards that you need as a student?

When you join UNSW Bengaluru, you will be issued two cards at the same time, carried in a single card holder:

  • Student ID card: Your official identification as a UNSW student at the Bengaluru campus. Student cards show your photo, name, student ID number, program, validity period and the emergency contact details
  • Campus access card: Your gateway to common areas and learning areas on campus such as classrooms, labs and the library. 

You will need to have both cards with you whenever you are on campus.

What can I use my cards for?
  • Identify yourself as a UNSW Bengaluru student
  • Borrow resources from the campus library
  • Access campus facilities

Getting your cards for the first time

You will only be issued your cards once you have completed the below:

  1. Accepted your offer of admission to a UNSW Bengaluru program
  2. Completed your course enrolment on myUNSW
  3. Filled out your emergency contact details on myUNSW (go to 'My Student Profile' > 'Emergency Contact' under the Personal Details section).

Collecting your cards

The student ID and access cards are valid for the duration of your program while you remain enrolled. Your cards will be printed and activated for you upon collection. Your photo for the ID card will also be taken upon collection.

Your access card is mapped to your access zones and issued together with your student ID card.

Card collection will start from Wednesday, 5 August 2026.
  1. Ensure you already met the above requirements
  2. Bring your original identity document with you
  3. Collect your card from:

    Location: Room GF113, the Banyan meeting room behind Reception, UNSW Bengaluru campus, Embassy Manyata Business Park.
    Opening hours: Monday - Friday (public holidays excluded) | 12-2pm and 4-5pm 

  • UNSW requires you to enrol under your full legal name. When you attend to have your cards issued, bring one valid, original government-issued photo identity document.

    Accepted documents are:

    • Resident Indian Citizens: Aadhaar card or passport 
    • Non-Resident Indians and Overseas Citizens of India: passport only 

    If you have legally changed your name, you may be required to provide additional documentation reflecting the change.

Lost, stolen or damaged cards

If either card is lost or stolen:

  1. Report it to Reception as soon as possible - Your student access card will be deactivated and campus security notified, protecting you and the campus. 
  2. Collect a replacement card at Room GF113 (behind Reception) during opening hours with a government-issued photo identification mentioned above.

Replacement cards are issued free of charge if the original card is lost, stolen, damaged, or faulty. Damaged or faulty cards must be returned.

Forgot your cards?

If you arrive on campus without your cards, report to Reception for a temporary pass for the day. Temporary passes must be returned when you leave.
