Get to know the ins and outs of examinations at UNSW Bengaluru
Final examinations take place at the end of each Northern Semester. Ensure you're familiar with your relevant exam period, results and key dates.
Important: If your exams are timetabled as on campus, you must show up in person and bring your physical UNSW student ID card to be scanned at the exam.

Supplementary exams

Short-term circumstances
If you're unable to sit your exam due to circumstances beyond your control, you may be eligible for Special Consideration. This could be short-term illnesses, hardship, trauma or grievances. Appropriate documentation will need to be provided to support your application.
Long-term circumstances
If you have a long-term health condition, living with a disability or are the primary carer for a person with disability, you may be eligible for Equitable Learning Services for ongoing support or adjustments throughout your studies.

If you are neurodivergent or have a long-term health condition affecting your exam or studies, you may be eligible to receive alternative exam arrangements to assist you with your course completion.
Do you have a registered Equitable Learning Plan with Equitable Learning Services (ELS)?
Contact Equitable Learning Services (ELS) for support with exam adjustments. ELS will get in touch with the UNSW Bengaluru Examinations Team and relevant academic staff to organise the appropriate arrangements for you.
Are you living with a temporary disability, or don't have a registered Equitable Learning Plan with ELS?
You must reach out to ELS as soon as possible once you know about your disability or condition. Creating an Equitable Learning Plan could take weeks and you need to ensure that you are registered at least two weeks before your exam. You will need to provide supporting medical documentation to receive alternative exam provisions where applicable.

Exam papers are retained in the relevant school or faculty for six months after the exam date with the exception of papers that have already been returned to students.
You may request access to your completed exam papers and may be able to consult the examiner or the lecturer-in-charge on your results. Faculties determine the conditions under which your access is granted.

The UNSW Bengaluru Examination team do not give re-sits or supplementary exams.
You are only entitled to a supplementary exam after being approved for one, either via a Special Consideration application or by your school for being a potential graduand, which means you are in your final semester of study.

You can only enter your final exams on campus within the first 30 minutes, per the UNSW exam rules. The time does not include reading or extra time.
- For your morning exam, you will not be permitted to enter your exam venue after 10.30am.
- For your afternoon exam, you will not be permitted to enter your exam venue after 2.30pm.
- For your evening exam, you will not be permitted to enter your exam venue after 6.30pm.
