Alumni & industry

We wouldn’t be a world-leading school if it wasn’t for the skill and determination of our staff and students, past and present. Our alumni and industry connections are core to the way we work, preparing current students for the future and maintaining a global focus.

Our graduates from chemical engineering, industrial chemistry and food science and technology, leave UNSW with the training and knowledge to set them apart. Many have gone on to hold very senior positions in industries both at home and around the globe.

Giving

By giving to a specific cause at UNSW, you create change where it means the most to you. From enabling high-end research to advancing the student experience, your donation can make a difference and help us achieve remarkable things.

Professional societies

We cover a wide range of study areas, so we are associated with many different professional societies. Some cover broad chemical disciplines, while others are more focused on a specific area. Professional societies are a great source of information on your chosen field, they hold networking events and provide invaluable links for your career advancement. Most engineers are members of one or more societies, and it’s up to you which you choose.

Industry partners

Our school was set up with the industry in mind. Through these partnerships, we’re able to understand industry needs now and in the future, consulting on many levels. This includes providing advice and embarking on co-operative research projects.

Our research

UNSW Engineering students are required to undertake 60 days of industrial training. This is a great opportunity for employers to engage with potential future employees and to mentor the next generation of engineers.
