uDASH is open for business and ready to learn about your data-related challenges. We will match you with a team of experts to find the answers to your questions. Some of the primary channels for collaboration include:
The benefits of working with uDASH include:
Research partnerships (contract/collaborative research).
Funding for ongoing research.
Social and economic impact.
Contributions to start-up ecosystem.
Access to cutting edge facilities.
Access to expert staff and recruits.
Leveraged grants.
R&D tax incentives.
As a multi-disciplinary team across all faculties at UNSW, our scientists are specialists in:
While applying these diverse skillsets to your data, uDASH provides opportunities for training, micro-credentialling and education in all of these fields. We develop tailored courses addressing the skillsets of your staff, introducing new opportunities for expertise in your team.
uDASH is a bridge between the University and the commercial world. We apply the perspectives and models developed for academic publications to real world applications such as image or facial recognition, data privacy, cyber security, virus spread and intensity, and more.
Our models are often deprived of the real-world data needed to be practically applied. The converse problem exists in the ‘extra-university’ world, where there is a surplus of data with inadequate models for their processing. uDASH exists to unite these needs.
uDASH has access to Australia’s fastest array of supercomputers. By collaborating with uDASH, simulations that may take days can, with our computing power, run in the order of hours and minutes. Being firmly rooted in UNSW’s rich diversity of centres and facilities, uDASH and its partners have access to the Katana Servers, the computing suite in the hub, as well as UNSW’s EPICentre, located in the University's Paddington campus.
Data4Good aims to use the power of data to help drive systemic change for the good of society. Data4Good is seeking partners to collaborate and perform work that directly benefits society.
Through our expertise, we help organisations understand and make use of their data for maximum impact, driving change. We bring data professionals together to use their skills across diverse areas to solve community and global issues.
Researchers, scientists and academics on our team are world leaders in their respective fields. These fields include, mathematical and statistical modelling, machine learning, data visualisation, climate science, physical sciences, psychology, behavioural science, learning and education, business, economics and law, as well as the medical sciences. Data Science is an ideal career path for anyone who enjoys maths, statistics and computer science.
Data Science and Statistics is a multidisciplinary field of study that blends mathematical methods, statistics, computing, business decisions and communication. Data Scientists translate user data into insights to help companies understand their audience and personalise their products and/or services. Uncovering new insights and predicting trends has become vital in retail, environmental, not-for-profit, IT and professional services sectors.
Career opportunities in Data Science and Statistics span many industries from start-ups to established corporations including Coles, AirBnB, Spotify, Netflix and Greenpeace, to name a few. As a Data Scientist, you might be asked to calculate the price of new products for the market, determine warehouse or retail employee schedules, make predictions of environmental phenomena and model the spread of new diseases. At UNSW Science, our core undergraduate degree is the Bachelor of Data Science and Decisions.
