Start by thinking about what matters most - your interests, goals and the type of university experience you want. Our questions below can help guide your thinking so you can make an informed decision about where to study.
1. What do you want to study?
Check whether the university offers degrees in the areas you’re interested in. Whether it’s business, medicine, engineering or arts, there are a range of degrees you can explore within each study area. 2. What are the entry requirements?
Each degree has its own entry requirements. Check that your predicted or achieved results meet the entry requirements for your desired degree(s). This includes looking at your ATAR, assumed knowledge for the degree, and more. Some degrees also have different admission pathways and adjustment factors to provide you with other ways to gain admission beyond standard criteria.

5. Are there study abroad opportunities?
If you’re interested in exchange or studying abroad, many universities offer programs where you can earn credits while studying overseas. You’ll be immersed in different cultures, languages and environments, broadening your communication and collaboration skills.

As you compare undergraduate degrees, check whether they offer work experience or internships. 7. What is graduate employability like?
Graduate outcomes show how well a university prepares students for their careers. The Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) are a collection of government-backed surveys for higher education, which look at the student lifestyle from enrolment to employment. QILT considers student experiences, graduate outcomes and salaries across all Australian universities and other higher education providers.
