Our lab is a group of marine scientists, lead by Dr Paul Gribben, working in a range of areas, from fundamental ecology to habitat restoration and conservation.

Conducting solutions-based research on human stressors in estuarine and coastal ecosystems.

Microbes are important for the marine environment as they often form symbiotic relationships with higher organisms, such as seaweeds or sponges. Our laboratory is interested in understanding how these symbioses work to support the health and function of their host organisms. 

Throughout the Asia-Pacific, aquaculture has been promoted as a means of improving income and food security for rural communities.
