In addition to providing specialist risk advice, Andrew has lectured on risk management to a range of Commonwealth government agencies, including ANAO, PM&C, Geoscience Australia, DFAT and Defence (including Joint Operations Command).
  • He is passionate about improving the capability of people and organisations to develop and implement their security and risk management capabilities. 
  • Recognised across the Commonwealth as a subject matter expert on risk, Andrew has mentored senior risk managers across most government agencies. He has reviewed numerous risk management frameworks across the Australian Government and industry sectors, with his work being officially recognised by two Australian Government Gateway Reviews as best practice in the Commonwealth. 
  • Andrew has briefed an Australian Prime Minister and senior cabinet Ministers on a range of issues.

This course provides practical, hands-on training in security and security risk management, structured across four comprehensive modules. You’ll begin with facilitation, learning how to lead risk assessment workshops, manage stakeholders and apply rating systems and event security plans.

The program then covers governance and site security assessments, including the development of security risk management plans and understanding security overlays. You’ll explore threat and hazard assessments, gaining skills to identify, analyse and document threats and hazards through detailed registers.
